US President Donald Trump's rejection of Iran's response to an American peace plan has been dismissed as irrelevant by Tehran, with semi-official media reporting that the move "doesn't matter at all."
An informed source told the Tasnim News Agency: "No one in Iran writes proposals to please Trump," stressing that the negotiating team drafts plans solely based on the rights of the Iranian people.
The source added that if Trump was dissatisfied with the proposal, "then it is naturally better."
This defiance has followed Trump’s statement on his Truth Social platform, where he described the response from Iran’s "so-called representatives" as "totally unacceptable."
Key demands
Following the exchange, Israeli media have reported a sensitive telephone call between Trump and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to discuss the regional tension and the Iranian nuclear programme.
According to Tasnim, the Iranian response emphasises the necessity of ending the war immediately and providing guarantees against renewed aggression.
The text has demanded the lifting of OFAC sanctions related to oil sales within 30 days and the simultaneous release of frozen Iranian assets upon signing a preliminary understanding.
Furthermore, Iran has insisted on managing the Strait of Hormuz and an immediate end to the naval blockade.
While the US has pushed for its own settlement, Tehran's response indicates that some American measures must be implemented within 30 days to ensure progress.
The standoff has intensified regional concerns as both sides remain deadlocked over maritime traffic and economic restrictions.
