The US Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) has said that a vessel linked to narco-trafficking was targeted in a strike in the Eastern Pacific, resulting in three fatalities.
The operation was carried out on 26 April under the direction of SOUTHCOM Commander Gen. Francis L. Donovan, the command announced on X.
Joint Task Force Southern Spear conducted a "lethal kinetic strike" on a vessel operated by designated terrorist organisations, the statement said.
According to the command, intelligence confirmed the vessel was moving along known narco-trafficking routes and was "engaged in narco-trafficking operations."
"Three male narco-terrorists were killed during this action," the command stated.
It added that no US military personnel were harmed during the operation.
No further details have been provided regarding the specific location, the identity of those involved, or the type of vessel targeted in the strike.
