An Israeli drone strike killed two Palestinians and injured several others near a water distribution station in Gaza City on Sunday, while a Palestinian report detailed mounting restrictions at major Islamic holy sites in the occupied Palestinian territories.
The Gaza Civil Defence said the drone targeted civilians gathered outside a water distribution point in the Al-Samer area, east of Gaza City, describing the attack as another violation of the ceasefire that took effect on October 10, 2025.
Despite the truce, the Israeli military has continued daily strikes across Gaza, where shattered streets and ruined neighbourhoods remain trapped in a cycle of violence.
Gaza’s Health Ministry said Israeli attacks since the ceasefire have killed 1,066 people and injured 3,445 others, while Israel now occupies about 70 percent of the Palestinian enclave.
The ministry added that Israel’s genocidal war, launched on October 7, 2023, has devastated nearly 90 percent of Gaza’s civilian infrastructure and killed more than 73,000 Palestinians.

Al-Aqsa restrictions intensify
Separately, the Palestinian Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs reported that Israeli troops raided the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound through the Mughrabi Gate in occupied East Jerusalem 26 times during June.
The ministry reported 4,212 illegal Israeli settlers entered the compound under police protection.
It documented settlers performing Talmudic rituals inside the compound, including "epic prostration," collective prostration, and public group prayers, as well as prayers for Israeli soldiers in front of the Dome of the Rock.
It also accused Israeli forces of tightening restrictions on Palestinian worshippers, particularly during Friday prayers, by increasing security measures around the compound.
At the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron, the ministry said 950 Israeli soldiers prevented the Muslim call to prayer 84 times and maintained restrictions affecting worshippers and mosque staff.
The ministry also reported attacks on other mosques in the occupied West Bank and urged the international community and human rights organisations to act to protect Islamic holy sites.
