More than 12,000 children were killed or injured by explosive ordnance between 2020 and 2025, meaning more than five children every day, according to a new Save the Children analysis.

Children made up 46% of civilian casualties from landmines and explosive remnants of war where age was known. In 2025, air-launched weapons were involved in 67% of incidents that harmed civilians worldwide.
