The US Embassy in Moscow has warned Russian authorities of a possible attack at the Tsaritsyno Museum Reserve, prompting Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) to say it was taking appropriate measures.

The embassy said on Saturday it was aware of “a credible threat of a mass casualty event” at the palace museum and park complex in the Russian capital that day.

It said the US government was coordinating with Russian authorities and urged people to avoid the site, remain alert, and stay away from crowds.

The FSB confirmed it had received information from the US about plans for a terrorist attack in Moscow and said appropriate measures were being taken, RIA reported.

The security service also said it was carrying out “appropriate work” in response to the warning, according to TASS news agency.

Trump voices hope for Ukraine deal

Separately, US President Donald Trump expressed optimism about a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine ahead of the December G20 summit at his Trump National Doral resort in Florida.

“I think we’re getting very close to making a deal there,” Trump said in an interview with conservative commentator Benny Johnson released on Saturday.

Asked about reports of a possible agreement at the summit, Trump did not rule out a breakthrough, while acknowledging the deep hostility between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

“I think there’s a real good chance we’re going to have that one worked out,” he said.
