A new Reuters/Ipsos poll suggests public backing for US military involvement in Iran remains low, with only one in three Americans supporting the conflict.

The survey also found that nearly seven in 10 respondents believe President Donald Trump has not clearly explained the purpose of US military action. While Trump has cited goals ranging from curbing Iran's nuclear ambitions to weakening its missile programme and encouraging political change, many Americans remain unconvinced.
