The Israeli army and illegal settlers carried out 2,256 attacks against Palestinians and their property across the occupied West Bank in July, a Palestinian government body said on Monday.
According to the monthly report by the Palestinian Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission, 1,458 attacks were carried out by the Israeli army and 798 by illegal settlers.
Commission chief Muayyad Shaaban said the army's attacks were concentrated in Ramallah and al-Bireh (260), Nablus (247), Jenin (190), Bethlehem (185) and Hebron (170).
He described the number of illegal settler attacks as "record and unprecedented," with 228 incidents in Nablus, 212 in Hebron and 153 in Ramallah and al-Bireh. Since the start of the year, settlers have carried out 4,286 attacks, he added.
Shaaban said the July attacks killed seven Palestinians, including four during an illegal Israeli settler attack on the village of Tell, west of Nablus.
According to the report, illegal Israeli settlers uprooted, damaged or poisoned 5,027 trees, including 3,241 olive trees, carried out 440 attacks on Palestinian property and farmland, and committed 23 incidents involving the theft or confiscation of Palestinian property.
The report also said illegal settlers attempted to establish 29 settlement outposts during the month, while Israeli authorities approved plans for 1,128 new settlement units on 1,172 dunams (289.6 acres) of Palestinian land.
Demolitions continue
Separately, Israeli forces demolished a home, a horse farm and two agricultural structures in the occupied West Bank on Monday, citing a lack of building permits.
Local activist Jihad al-Qaq said Israeli forces demolished a 140-square-metre home under construction and a 460-square-metre horse farm in Kafr Malik, east of Ramallah.
In Beit Dajan, east of Nablus, Israeli forces demolished two agricultural structures, causing a power outage in part of the town, according to local sources.
The commission said Israeli authorities also issued 31 military seizure orders in July affecting around 831 dunams (205 acres) of Palestinian land and carried out 80 demolition operations targeting 165 structures, including 80 inhabited homes.
Around 750,000 illegal settlers live in 156 settlements and 360 settlement outposts across the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, according to Palestinian figures.
Since the start of Israel's war on Gaza in October 2023, Israeli military raids and illegal settler attacks across the occupied West Bank have intensified, killing more than 1,182 Palestinians, injuring around 13,000 and leading to the arrest of nearly 24,000, according to official Palestinian figures.
