Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has met his Pakistani counterpart Ishaq Dar in Istanbul to discuss bilateral ties and issues of regional and international importance.
Türkiye’s foreign ministry shared photos of the meeting but provided no further details.
Diplomatic sources said the talks were held at the ministry’s Istanbul office.
Pakistan’s foreign ministry said the two sides “expressed satisfaction at the continued strengthening and expansion of bilateral relations in the political, economic, security and cultural domains”.
Welcoming progress made under the Pakistan–Türkiye High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council (HLSCC), the foreign ministers agreed to hold its next session at an early date, the ministry added.
The two ministers also exchanged views on regional and international issues and reaffirmed their commitment to continue working closely to promote regional peace and stability, according to the readout.
Officials from Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye are due to hold their first political and defence committee meeting in Istanbul on Monday under the Mecca defence pact signed earlier this month.
