Türkiye and the United States are set to deepen economic ties in New York this week as senior officials and business leaders gather for the 19th Türkiye Investment Conference (TRICON), with a $100 billion bilateral trade target and new investment partnerships high on the agenda.
Organised by the Foreign Economic Relations Board of Türkiye (DEİK) and its Türkiye-US Business Council (TAİK), the September 21-23 conference brings together Turkish officials, American investors and executives from major companies during the UN General Assembly week.
The three-day event aims to expand trade and investment opportunities across strategic sectors while supporting Türkiye’s goal of increasing economic ties with the US. It comes amid Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s ongoing visit to the US.

Energy, technology take center stage
The conference programme includes seven sector-focused meetings covering areas such as energy, advanced technology, financial services, semiconductors, mobility, renewable energy and advanced manufacturing.
Healthcare, digital technologies, communications and space are also expected to feature in discussions, reflecting the growing focus on high-value industries and emerging technologies.
Türkiye is expected to highlight investment opportunities and incentives aimed at attracting international capital, including its HIT30 high-tech investment programme.
Cybersecurity and digital transformation will also be among the topics discussed as Ankara seeks to expand cooperation with US companies and encourage investment in technology-driven industries.
DEİK has described TRICON as an annual platform bringing senior Turkish officials together with leading US investors and Fortune 100 companies. The conference has become a key venue for business discussions held in New York during UN General Assembly week.

Erdogan expected to meet US corporate leaders
Erdogan, who arrived in New York on Sunday to attend the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, is expected to meet US corporate leaders during his visit to the city, according to the conference programme.
DEİK Chairman Nail Olpak and TAİK Chairman Murat Ozyegin are among the Turkish business representatives taking part, while Chobani founder and CEO Hamdi Ulukaya is also scheduled to attend.
The gathering will provide opportunities for Turkish and US companies to discuss investment projects, supply chains and potential partnerships in strategically important industries.
For Türkiye, the US remains an important export market and investment partner, while Turkish businesses have sought to expand their presence in the American market. US companies, meanwhile, have increasingly viewed Türkiye as a manufacturing, logistics and regional investment hub.

The $100-billion target
The $100-billion trade target is expected to remain a central theme of the discussions, as both sides look for ways to increase bilateral commerce and investment.
TRICON will combine high-level meetings with sector-specific sessions and business discussions, giving participating companies an opportunity to explore concrete projects and partnerships.
The conference also forms part of Türkiye’s broader economic diplomacy efforts to attract foreign investment in sectors seen as critical to future growth, including clean energy, advanced manufacturing, digital technologies and high-tech industries.
With senior officials and business leaders meeting on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, organisers are seeking to translate political and economic dialogue into new commercial opportunities and deeper Türkiye-US business ties.
