Israeli forces have arrested at least four Palestinians, including an 86-year-old man and his daughter, in raids across the occupied West Bank, as illegal Israeli settlers attacked Palestinian towns and damaged homes and vehicles.

In Tammun, southeast of Tubas, Israeli forces arrested 86-year-old Burhan Rashid Bani Odeh and his 57-year-old daughter, the official Palestinian news agency Wafa reported on Tuesday.

Israeli forces deployed several military patrols in Tubas and Tammun, searching homes before withdrawing, the agency said.

In Nablus, troops raided several homes and arrested a 68-year-old man. Another Palestinian man was arrested during a raid on his home in Anata, northeast of occupied East Jerusalem, and taken to an unknown location.

Israeli forces also raided Beit Sahour, Beit Jala, Al-Ubeidiya, Al-Shawawra and Za’atara in Bethlehem governorate, according to Wafa.

Around Ramallah and Al-Bireh, troops tightened military restrictions, setting up checkpoints and obstructing Palestinian movement, local sources said.

Illegal settler attacks

Meanwhile, more than illegal 200 Israeli settlers attacked the outskirts of Al-Mazraa al-Sharqiya, east of Ramallah, early Tuesday, damaging vehicles and homes before residents confronted them and forced them to leave, Wafa reported.

Local sources said more than four vehicles and two homes were damaged.

Israeli settlers also raided Silwad, northeast of Ramallah, stole dozens of livestock and damaged property at several homes, according to Wafa.

Around 750,000 Israeli settlers live in 156 illegal settlements and 360 settlement outposts across the occupied West Bank, including occupied East Jerusalem.

Israeli settlements in occupied territory are illegal under international law, but Israel has continued expanding them despite international criticism.

The occupied West Bank has seen escalating Israeli raids and arrests since October 2023, alongside increasing settler attacks, movement restrictions and closures of entrances to Palestinian towns and villages.
