Ukraine’s foreign ministry has said that Russian attacks across several regions killed at least six people and wounded 20 others, as aerial warfare intensified across the country.
In a statement posted on X on Friday, the ministry said strikes in the southeastern Zaporizhzhia region sparked a fire at a gas station, damaging infrastructure and injuring two people.
In the Kharkiv region, air strikes hit a warehouse, residential buildings and vehicles, leaving 10 people injured, including four children, and killing one person, according to the ministry.
Civilian toll mounts across multiple regions
In the central Dnipropetrovsk region, attacks damaged private homes, a post office and vehicles.
An 8-year-old girl was killed in the city of Pavlohrad, and another person was injured, the ministry said.
In the southern Odesa region, Russian strikes set fuel tankers and a gas tanker on fire, killing one person and injuring four others.
Firefighting efforts were reportedly hampered by repeated air raid alerts.
In Kramatorsk in the eastern Donetsk region, three people were killed and at least six wounded, according to the ministry.
“Russia has no intention of stopping,” the ministry said, calling on Ukraine’s partners to impose tougher sanctions and strengthen air defences.
“Ukraine’s ability to defend itself against aerial terror must be enhanced. Strengthening Ukraine’s air defence remains critical to saving lives,” it added.
The claims could not be independently verified.
Meanwhile, both sides reported overnight drone activity. Ukraine’s military said it downed 79 Russian drones, while Russia’s defence ministry claimed its air defences intercepted 133 Ukrainian drones, underscoring the continued intensity of aerial exchanges in the conflict.
