Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan met with US Ambassador to Türkiye Tom Barrack, outgoing US House of Representatives member Darrell Issa and Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) Kubanychbek Omuraliev in the capital, Ankara on Tuesday.

The ministry shared a photo of the meeting held in Ankara, but no further information was immediately available.

Issa, a member of the House Foreign Relations Committee, is not seeking reelection in this November’s US congressional elections. His term is set to end next January, when his successor is sworn into the new Congress.

During his meeting with Omuraliev, Fidan discussed preparations for the 13th OTS Summit, which Türkiye will host in Ankara on October 29-30, according to a foreign ministry statement.
