Two Israeli soldiers have been killed and four others injured after an explosive device detonated in southern Lebanon, Israeli media and the military said.

The blast occurred on Wednesday in the town of Majdal Zoun in Lebanon's Tyre district, according to Israel's Channel 12.

The Israeli army later confirmed in a statement that two soldiers were killed in the incident.

The explosion came as Lebanon and Israel held a seventh round of US-mediated talks in Rome aimed at discussing the ceasefire agreement, an Israeli withdrawal from southern Lebanon and other outstanding issues.

The three-day negotiations are expected to conclude on Thursday.

The incident underscores ongoing Israeli attacks in Lebanon despite the ceasefire.

According to Lebanon's Health Ministry, Israeli attacks since March 2 have killed at least 4,333 people and injured 12,250 others.
