The Saudi-led coalition said early on Wednesday that it intercepted and destroyed five drones launched towards Saudi Arabia.
Coalition spokesperson Brig Gen Turki al-Maliki said on X that the interception and destruction operation was carried out in the regions of Medina, home to one of Islam's holiest cities, and the Eastern Province.
In a separate statement, al-Maliki said coalition forces had intercepted and destroyed a drone heading towards the eastern region.

Saudi Arabia has this month come under sustained attack from the Houthi militia, including a strike on Riyadh's international airport that was the kingdom's deadliest in years, as the war with the group escalates.
Medina, the burial place of Prophet Mohammad and home to the Prophet's Mosque, is one of Islam's holiest cities alongside Mecca, both of which the Houthi militia has promised to spare.
