US Congresswoman Delia Ramirez said on Wednesday that Israel’s genocide against Palestinians “has not ended,” calling for the passage of her bill to block US bomb transfers to Israel.
“Israel is committing a genocide against Palestinians, paid for by American taxpayers,” the Illinois Democrat said in a post on X.
“As Israeli airstrikes continue to kill children and families in Gaza, half a million Palestinians are set to lose access to food and assistance,” Ramirez said.
“Whether by bombs or through starvation, the genocide has not ended. We must end it. We can start by passing my Block the Bombs Act,” she added.
Ramirez introduced the bill, H.R. 3565, last year with Democrats Sara Jacobs, Pramila Jayapal and Mark Pocan.
The legislation would block transfers to Israel of BLU-109 bunker-busting bombs, MK80 series bombs, GBU-39 small diameter bomb variants, Joint Direct Attack Munitions, SPICE gliding bomb assemblies and 120mm tank ammunition and 155mm artillery ammunition, including white phosphorus munitions.
Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza has killed more than 74,000 Palestinians and injured over 175,000 others since October 2023, as well as caused widespread destruction affecting approximately 90 percent of civilian infrastructure.
According to the latest figures from Gaza’s Health Ministry, Israeli violations of a ceasefire agreement in place since October 2025 have killed 1,534 Palestinians and injured 5,486 others.
