Belgium booked their place in the World Cup Round of 16 with a dramatic 3-2 win over Senegal, scoring two late goals to force extra time before Youri Tielemans converted a penalty in the 125th minute.
Habib Diarra opened the scoring in the 24th minute to put Senegal ahead. Ismaila Sarr scored the Lions of Tiranga's second goal in the 51st minute.
Romelu Lukaku scored Belgium's first goal in the 86th minute. Three minutes later, Tielemans equalised for Belgium, taking both teams to extra time.
He scored Belgium's winner in the 120+ minute from the penalty spot to put an end to the thrilling match.
Senegal was the more energetic and adventurous side throughout the first half, while Belgium struggled to find a rhythm.
Diarra's goal reflected the balance of play, with Senegal creating the better opportunities and limiting the Red Devils to only a handful of half-chances that failed to seriously test Mory Diaw.
Belgium did improve after falling behind, growing into the contest as the interval approached, but Senegal deservedly led at the break.
Belgium play the winner of Wednesday's later game between the United States and Bosnia and Herzegovina, in Seattle on July 6 for a place in the quarter-finals.
