Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met in Ankara to discuss strengthening bilateral ties and address regional and global issues, Türkiye’s Communications Directorate has said.
The leaders held a one-on-one meeting on Wednesday and chaired talks between their respective delegations at the Presidential Complex, where Tokayev was welcomed with an official ceremony during his visit to Türkiye.
According to a statement from the directorate, Erdogan said the two countries would advance their enhanced strategic partnership by expanding cooperation across several key sectors.

Trade, energy and defence top cooperation agenda
Erdogan highlighted trade, investment, energy, transport and the defence industry as priority areas for closer cooperation between Türkiye and Kazakhstan.
The meeting brought together senior Turkish officials, including Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar, Trade Minister Omer Bolat, Transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloglu, Culture and Tourism Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, and Head of Communications Burhanettin Duran.
The discussions underscored the two countries’ commitment to broadening their strategic partnership through stronger economic and sectoral ties.

Türkiye pledges support for Turkic cooperation
Erdogan also said Ankara would work to strengthen the Organisation of Turkic States during Türkiye’s chairmanship, maintaining close solidarity with Kazakhstan on the issue.
The organisation brings together Turkic-speaking countries to promote cooperation across political, economic and cultural fields.
The Turkish president also invited Tokayev to attend the COP31 Leaders’ Summit, scheduled to take place in Antalya on November 11-12.
