Donations make a difference for Syrian refugees in Istanbul

Five years ago Menderes Arican quit his job and got together with friends to help Syrian refugees. Today, they run a warehouse on the edges of Istanbul storing donations for refugees.

Istanbul hosts over 400,000 Syrian refugees. Most need all the help they can get. Here Menderes Arican (second from left) speaks to a Syrian woman who has come to look for beds and shoes.

About 7,000 people a week come to a warehouse on the outskirts of Turkey's biggest city. It handles donations including furniture, food, and clothing.

But with the large number of refugees in Istanbul, there's often not enough to go around.
