Jailed former Thai prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra has returned to his home in Bangkok after being released on parole. Phil Robertson, deputy director of the Asia Division at Human Rights Watch, says that the ex-prime minister's release is a deal with the government and that Thaksin's popularity in the country is still significant.
