Senegal begins oil production, hopes for economic transformation

Senegal has become the world's newest oil producing nation. Extraction has started at its first offshore project. Although Senegal's fossil fuel production is not expected to match that of larger producers like Nigeria, Dakar hopes the energy sector will generate billions in revenue and help transform the nation's economy.
