Israel expands drone production into Serbia
8 hours ago

As public pressure mounted on President Aleksandar Vučić’s government to halt military cooperation with Israel during the war on Gaza, a new agreement was quietly taking shape. Serbia and Israel are now moving forward with plans to jointly manufacture combat drones on Serbian soil, deepening a partnership worth billions.

In this episode, Across The Balkans examines the political, economic, and regional implications of this growing defence relationship and speaks with political analyst Dr Gokhan Cinkara, to break down the significance of the agreement, the controversy surrounding it, and the potential consequences for the region.

Thousands of people have been refused entry to the European Union, with hundreds identified as a ‘security threat’  by a new border check system. It's created long queues and raises questions about whether entries and exits into and from the EU will create more disruption than efficiency.

From global instability to food security concerns, agriculture is once again in focus. Many countries are working to preserve their indigenous breeds. In North Macedonia, a remarkable story is unfolding about an ancient shepherd dog called the Karaman, which has a rich history in the region.

Across The Balkans, hosted by Nadja Muftic, is TRT World's programme focusing on the issues and fault lines shaping Southeast Europe today.
