Bosnia and Herzegovina is on track to reduce dependency on Russian gas

Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia have signed a major deal to build the Southern Interconnection gas pipeline. It is a decisive step to reduce Bosnia’s dependence on Russian gas. The project will connect the country to Europe’s wider energy network through Croatia. Supporters say it strengthens energy security and brings new investment to the Balkans. But questions remain over transparency and growing US involvement in the deal.

In this episode, Across The Balkans examines how this agreement could reshape Bosnia’s future and its path toward the European Union and speaks with the Vice President of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Igor Stojanovic.

Romania is facing a deepening political crisis after its ruling coalition collapsed, leaving Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan without a parliamentary majority. The Social Democratic Party has withdrawn its support, triggering a power struggle ahead of a key no-confidence vote scheduled for the 5th of May. The development comes amid economic reforms and growing pressure tied to EU funding.

Across The Balkans, hosted by Nadja Muftic, is TRT World's programme focusing on the issues and fault lines shaping Southeast Europe today.
