Yemeni fighter jets carried out 13 air strikes on Houthi positions, gatherings and military vehicles in central Yemen early on Monday, including a missile launcher, according to the Yemeni army.
The strikes targeted sites in the Al-Sharyah, Dhi Na’im, Al-Bayda and Al-Sawadiyah districts of Al-Bayda governorate, the Yemeni Armed Forces Media Centre said.
In a separate operation in southern Al-Dhale governorate, military aircraft destroyed a Houthi command-and-control room and a thermal surveillance system on Mount Nasa along the Murais front, according to the army.
The aircraft also targeted Houthi gatherings in the area.
Fighting spreads across multiple Yemeni fronts
The latest airstrikes followed reports of renewed ground clashes in several parts of the country.
Hours earlier, the Yemeni army said it had recaptured positions in Taiz and Al-Hudaydah governorates during fighting that left more than 20 Houthi militants dead or wounded.
The military also reported air strikes against Houthi positions in Taiz, Al-Hudaydah, Marib and Al-Jawf governorates.
The reports could not be independently verified.
Fragile calm under renewed pressure
Several front lines across Yemen have seen renewed fighting amid a broader escalation in reciprocal attacks since July.
The uptick in violence has disrupted a period of relative calm that had largely prevailed since a UN-brokered truce took effect in April 2022.
While the truce significantly reduced large-scale fighting, Yemen has remained divided between the internationally recognised government and the Houthis, with tensions periodically flaring along key front lines.
The latest clashes and air strikes underscore the fragility of the situation as efforts to maintain stability face renewed military pressure.
