Nigeria's Health minister, Isaac Oduwole says the government is opening many more health facilities across the country.

UNICEF says one in 34 babies born in Nigeria die before their first birthday. 

The country's birth rate is high but many births still outside health facilities and unassisted by professionals.

TRT World's Timothy Obiezu reports from the town of Masaka, in Nasarawa state where the rate of newborn deaths is one of the highest in the country.
