Palestinian resistance group Hamas has said that Israel's escalating aggression across Gaza can no longer be considered isolated ceasefire violations, warning that they amount to a "continuing war in different forms."
"The systematic fascist escalation by the government of war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu in Gaza is no longer a series of scattered violations, but a continuing war in different forms and a repudiation of the ceasefire agreement," the group said in an official statement.
Hamas stated that the Israeli military intensified its attacks on Monday morning, killing at least five Palestinians and wounding several others.
The group noted the escalation included home demolitions in southern Gaza, gunfire targeting fishermen off Gaza City, and direct strikes on civilians across the enclave.
Calls for international and mediator intervention
The movement renewed its appeal to regional and international mediators to intervene and hold Israeli leadership accountable.
"The movement renewed its call on the mediators and guarantors of the ceasefire agreement to assume their responsibilities regarding these Zionist crimes against our people, take immediate action to pressure the occupation government to halt its aggression against our people, and compel it to respect the agreement signed under international auspices," the statement added.
The strikes occurred despite public comments from US President Donald Trump calling for an end to bombardments in the enclave, stating in an interview that Israel should not be carrying out attacks in Gaza.
Since the ceasefire agreement took effect on October 10, 2025, Israeli violations of the truce have killed 1,320 Palestinians and wounded 4,385 others, whilst rescue teams have recovered hundreds of bodies from beneath the rubble.
According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, Israel has killed at least 73,454 Palestinians and wounded 174,486, mostly women and children, in its genocide in Gaza since October 2023.
