Israeli attacks kill, wound dozens in Lebanon: health ministry
Israeli attacks on Lebanon persist despite a US-brokered ceasefire, as Israel expands its occupation of southern territory.

At least 19 people were killed and 24 others wounded in Israeli attacks on Lebanon over the past 24 hours, the Lebanese health ministry has said.

The death toll from Israeli attacks since March 2 has reached 4,381, with 12,402 wounded, the ministry said in a statement on Monday.

The latest casualties brought the overall toll from Israeli attacks on Lebanon since 8 October 2023 to 8,948 killed and 30,638 wounded, it added.

Among the overnight strikes, an Israeli attack on a house in Kfar Roummane killed 11 people, including two children and four women, and wounded eight others, among them three children and a paramedic with the Islamic Health Organization.

A separate strike on a car in the same town killed a paramedic with the Islamic Risala Scout Association and wounded two more people.

Israeli air strikes also struck Nabatieh al-Fawqa and Arabsalim, destroying a house, while in Deir al-Zahrani, a building was levelled roughly 22 minutes after the Israeli army issued an evacuation warning, according to the National News Agency.

Israel continues to launch air strikes across southern Lebanon despite a US-brokered agreement signed in June.

The agreement provides for a gradual Israeli withdrawal from Lebanese territory in exchange for the deployment of the Lebanese army in those areas.

Israel continues to occupy areas in southern Lebanon, some held for decades and others seized during the 2023-2024 war, and has expanded the territory under its occupation during its ongoing offensive.
