A Palestinian family of three has been killed in an Israeli drone strike in southern Gaza, amid continued attacks despite a US call for Israel to halt strikes in the besieged enclave.

The three Palestinians were killed on Friday when an Israeli drone struck near the Al-Matahin junction in Al-Qarara, north of Khan Younis, medical and local sources told Anadolu.

A medical source at Nasser Hospital said the bodies of the three victims were brought to the facility after the strike.

Witnesses and local sources identified the victims as two brothers and their cousin from the Abdeen family. They said the three were outside their home when the drone struck.

A Palestinian was also moderately injured by fire from Israeli military vehicles east of Deir al-Balah in central Gaza, according to a medical source at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital.

Gaza attacks continue despite US call

Israeli military vehicles also opened heavy fire south of Khan Younis, while Israeli naval vessels fired towards the city's coastline, with no injuries reported.

The attacks came despite US President Donald Trump's call for Israel to halt strikes in Gaza.

In an interview with US broadcaster Fox News on August 17, Trump said Israel should not be carrying out strikes in Gaza.

He also said Hamas had agreed to give up its weapons under his plan to end the war in the enclave.

The ceasefire agreement has been in effect since October 10 2025. Israeli attacks have since killed 1,303 Palestinians and injured 4,336 others, while hundreds of bodies have been recovered from the rubble, according to Palestinian officials.

Since October 2023, Israel's genocidal war on Gaza has killed around 73,438 Palestinians and injured 174,447 others, according to the besieged enclave's Health Ministry.
