Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his Brazilian counterpart, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, discussed ties between their countries as well as regional and global issues, Türkiye’s Communications Directorate has said.
In a phone call on Monday, Erdogan welcomed the continued development of Türkiye-Brazil relations, whose strong foundations were laid 20 years ago, according to a statement by the directorate.
He said deepening cooperation in all areas, particularly investment, trade and the defence industry, would benefit both countries.
Erdogan also said he believed Türkiye and Brazil could establish a model of economic cooperation that would enhance the prosperity of both countries’ peoples in the face of protectionist trends.
He added that the peace-oriented policies pursued by Türkiye and Brazil on regional and global issues contribute to world peace.
