Ottoman traditions kept alive in Macedonia

Here in the municipality of Centar Zupa, more than 80 percent of people are Turkish. The official language is Turkish. They also have a radio and newspapers. And they say they're proud they managed to preserve their traditions here in Macedonia.

Turks aren't the only ones with a long history here. Macedonians and Albanians live alongside them.

Turks are the second-largest minority group in Macedonia.

They are dispersed across the country  - but the largest number live in Centar Jupa, which is a designated Turkish municipality. 

As TRT World's Nafisa Latic reports, Turks arrived during Ottoman times  - and generations later, their traditions are thriving.
