Saudi-led coalition in Yemen has said that it intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile launched by Houthis toward Khamis Mushait in southwestern Saudi Arabia.
Saudi state-run Al Ekhbariya TV cited the coalition as saying that Yemen’s capital Sanaa and the provinces of Saada and Amran were the sources of Houthi missile threats.
The coalition said it would continue operations to neutralise ballistic and surface-to-surface missile threats and destroy their launch sites.
US President Donald Trump has said that nobody knew who was running Iran during the US-Israeli war with Iran, now in its eighth month.
“Their leaders are gone, their second group of leaders are gone, and the biggest problem I have is that nobody knows who the hell is running the country," Trump said.
Iran's foreign ministry spokesman said in recent days that Washington knows very well who its counterpart is in Iran and how Iran's decision-making system works.
US President Donald Trump said oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz have matched and sometimes surpassed pre-war levels, with “millions of barrels” passing through in recent days.
Speaking to reporters before leaving for Maryland, Trump also said Iran’s oil minister had “just quit”, saying the official had declared: “We have no economy, we have no oil, we have nothing.”
The UK mission in Saudi Arabia has urged British citizens to follow travel advice after Yemen’s Houthis launched attacks on civilian infrastructure in the kingdom.
Three people were injured in the attacks on airports in the Saudi cities of Jizan and Najran, as reported earlier.
At least six civilians were killed and four others injured, including women and children, in Houthi shelling of residential villages south of Yemen’s southwestern Taiz province, the state-run Saba news agency reported.
A woman was killed and four civilians, including a child and two women, were injured when Houthi shelling struck the villages of Al-Doum, Hujrah and Al-Manawid in the Bani Yusuf area of the Al-Mawasit district, the agency said, citing local sources.
In the Al-Misrakh district, a mortar shell fired by the Houthis struck a family home in the village of Al-Sarm, killing a man, his wife, and daughter, as well as his son’s wife and her children, according to the sources.
Three Palestinians were killed and several others injured by Israeli army fire in Gaza, according to medical sources, as violence continued despite an ongoing ceasefire process, medical officials say.
One man was killed and another injured in a drone strike targeting pedestrians near the Municipal Park on Omar Al-Mukhtar Street in central Gaza City.
A 34-year-old Palestinian later died from wounds sustained in an Israeli strike targeting civilians near the Taiba Towers in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, on Monday.
A third Palestinian was killed and others injured in a separate Israeli strike targeting civilians on Aidiya Street west of Gaza City.
In Rafah, a displaced Palestinian was shot inside a tent in the Mawasi area after Israeli military vehicles opened fire towards tents sheltering displaced people.
Brent crude traded around $100 per barrel as shipping risks in the Strait of Hormuz remained in focus, while signs of recovering Middle Eastern exports weighed on prices.
Brent was trading at $100.06 per barrel, down 0.25 percent as of 1635GMT, while the US benchmark West Texas Intermediate (WTI) rose 0.2 percent to $89.60.
Oil prices initially fell on Tuesday amid signs that Middle Eastern crude exports were recovering.
The Saudi-led coalition battling Yemen's Houthis said that its forces intercepted a ballistic missile fired by the group at the kingdom's southwest.
The coalition's spokesperson Major General Turki al-Maliki said on X it "intercepted and destroyed" the missile launched towards Khamis Mushait, which is home to an airbase.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres urged the US and Iran to return to diplomacy and end the war, while hailing Pakistan’s “pivotal role” in creating conditions for dialogue between the two sides.
“Your efforts helped deliver the 17 June Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, the subsequent ceasefire, and the framework for further negotiations,” he said, adding that “every Pakistani should be proud of that pivotal role.
His remarks came during a joint news conference with Pakistani Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar in Islamabad. Guterres is visiting the country from Tuesday to Thursday.
Iran warned that any new attack by the US or Israel would face a stronger response, saying it has prepared potential targets for retaliation and significantly expanded its weapons production capacity.
Defence ministry spokesperson Reza Talaei-Nik said any renewed attack would be met with a “decisive response” and result in heavier losses for Iran’s adversaries, the semi-official Fars News Agency reported. Asked how Iran would respond to a potential attack on Kuh-e Kolang (Pickaxe Mountain), Talaei-Nik said targets that could be struck by the Iranian armed forces in response to renewed aggression had already been prepared.
He said advanced weapons and technologies, including missile and drone capabilities, upgraded air defences, and other naval, ground and air systems, had been made available to the armed forces.
