Record rainfall leaves 50,000 people stranded in floodwaters
In South-east Australia 50,000 people are stranded in floodwaters following record rainfall described as a “one-in-500-year event”. Some rural towns in New South Wales – Australia’s most populous state – have had four months of rain in just 24 hours. And more is to come, as Paul Hawkins reports.
