Palestinians in southern Gaza’s war-torn Khan Younis lined the streets with lanterns, flags, and banners to usher in the Islamic holy month of Ramadan, set to begin on Saturday, March 1.

For many in Gaza, the colourful decorations flowing freely stand as a testament to the resilience of the Palestinian people.

Despite the widespread destruction left behind by Israel’s nearly 16-month genocidal war, Palestinian Muslims refuse to let this essential observance of the Islamic faith be compromised in any way.
