Magnitude 6.9 earthquake hits off Japan's southwest coast
A powerful 6.9 magnitude earthquake hit off the coast of southwest Japan on January 13, leading to a 1m high tsunami wave within 30 minutes of the quake.

Authorities warned locals to stay away from the coast, but the initial Tsunami warning has been lifted.
