Japan’s worst wildfires in over 30 years have destroyed thousands of hectares across the southeast of Tohoku region since Wednesday, February 26.
Firefighters and military helicopters are struggling to contain the flames, which have killed at least one person and damaged over 80 buildings. Nearly 1,200 residents have been forced to evacuate.
