Asia-Pacific markets start week in positive territory
Asia-Pacific markets experienced an uplift on Monday, driven by favorable economic data from China. The region's major indices reflected optimism as industrial profits in China saw notable growth. Here's a closer look at the key figures and market movements across the region. China's industrial profits increased by 4.3 percent year on year in the first four months of the year, pushing up the CSI 300 and Hang Seng indexes. Japan's Nikkei 225, Topix, and South Korea's Kospi also saw a rise of nearly 0.5 percent while the Kosdaq remained flat. Australia's main index gained 0.8 percent, ending a four-day losing streak.
