William Ruto's rival Raila Odinga was backed by incumbent President Uhuru Kenyatta. Ruto portrayed them as members of the elite dynasties who've dominated the country for decades. Meanwhile, he cast himself as a champion of ordinary Kenyans trying to make ends meet. Adama Munu reports.
