Far-right National Rally wins first round of French elections
France is waking up to the start of a momentous week in politics and one that could reshape the country's direction. The far-right National Rally secured the most votes in the first round of the parliamentary elections. Exit polls show that it was backed by around a third of voters, with President Emmanuel Macron's alliance in a distant third.
