Former Uruguay President Jose Mujica dies aged 89
Jose Mujica, a former guerrilla fighter who became a symbol of national reconciliation after he disarmed and was elected president of Uruguay, has died at the age of 89. His progressive reforms endeared him to many, while his frugal lifestyle earned him the nickname 'the world's poorest president'. Selina Downes reports.
