Gabon officers declare military coup, President Bongo under house arrest
Military officers have staged a coup in the West African country of Gabon. They say they've put President Ali Bongo under house arrest, cancelling the results of last weekend’s election. Its the eighth military takeover in a former French colony in Africa since 2020. Simon McGregor-Wood has more details.
