At least five people were killed and 21 others injured in overnight Russian and Ukrainian attacks targeting residential areas and infrastructure in both countries, officials said on Friday.
In Ukraine, Russian strikes on the southeastern city of Zaporizhzhia killed one person and injured five others, including a child, regional military administration head Mykhailo Semikin said on Telegram.
The strikes hit residential areas and landed near an extracurricular education facility, he added.
In the western city of Ivano-Frankivsk, a security guard was killed after debris from a Shahed-type drone struck a non-residential building, Mayor Ruslan Martsinkiv said on Facebook.
In the Kiev region's Bucha district, a Russian attack damaged warehouse facilities and injured three people, Ukraine's Interior Ministry said.
Rescuers initially reported searching for a woman believed to be trapped beneath the rubble.
Kiev regional military administration head Timur Tkachenko later said rescuers had recovered the woman's body while clearing debris and extinguishing a fire at a warehouse.
Ukraine’s Air Force accused Russia of launching 136 strike drones, with 114 of them suppressed.
Attacks in Russia
In Russia’s Belgorod region, an attack on the settlement of Razumnoye killed a married couple and injured four people, including a child, according to the regional operational headquarters. One house was reportedly destroyed, while a neighbouring property sustained damage.
Kaluga region Governor Vladislav Shapsha said nine people were injured in an attack on infrastructure, five of whom were hospitalised. Private homes in two municipal districts were also damaged, he added.
Russian technology company Yandex said a drone strike damaged infrastructure at one of its data centres in Kaluga.
The company said the incident marked the second consecutive day that its data centres had been targeted, following an attack on Thursday in Sasovo.
"No employees were injured in either Sasovo or Kaluga," Yandex said. "Emergency services and our own specialists are currently on-site."
Russia’s Defence Ministry said its air defences intercepted and destroyed 505 Ukrainian drones over Russian regions, Crimea, which Moscow illegally annexed in 2014, as well as over the Black Sea and Sea of Azov.
Independent verification of the claims remains difficult due to the ongoing war.
