Israeli forces and illegal settlers have killed two Palestinians during a raid on the village of Al-Mughayyir, north of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank, according to Palestinian news agency Wafa.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society confirmed its emergency teams treated two Palestinians shot with live ammunition — one struck in the neck and the other in the back— during the joint aggression by Israeli troops and illegal settlers.
Both succumbed to their critical wounds whilst being transported to hospital.
Amin Abu Alia, head of the Al-Mughayyir village council, identified the victims as 19-year-old Omar Mohammed Naassan and 19-year-old Khalil Abu Alia.
Livestock theft
Abu Alia stated that Israeli forces and illegal settlers entered the centre of the village near the Grand Mosque, stormed two homes belonging to Saleh Suleiman and Shehadeh Kaabneh, and stole livestock.
Israeli military snipers took up positions across rooftops on buildings in the village centre, he said.
When local residents confronted the occupiers stealing the sheep, the snipers opened live fire directly at Palestinians, fatally wounding the two young men.
Israeli forces closed the village's main entrance on Wednesday evening amid confrontations and assaults on local residents.
Al-Mughayyir has faced repeated raids and incursions by occupiers protected by Israeli soldiers.
Since launching its genocidal war on Gaza in October 2023, the Israeli army and illegal settlers have escalated assaults across the occupied West Bank and occupied East Jerusalem, intensifying killings, mass detentions, forced displacement, home demolitions, and illegal settlement expansion.
