The US has condemned violence by “all parties” in the occupied West Bank, the State Department has said, as Israeli violence continues to escalate in the Palestinian territory.
“We condemn violence by any party in the West Bank,” a State Department spokesperson told Anadolu when asked about the increased Israeli attacks across the occupied West Bank and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s order for a "wide-scale military operation" in Palestinian villages.
“We are in regular dialogue with partners about improving stability and security in the West Bank,” the spokesperson said.
“A stable West Bank keeps Israel secure and is in line with this administration’s goal to achieve peace in the region,” the spokesperson added.
On Saturday, Israeli illegal settlers raided the town of Tell in the northern occupied West Bank for the second consecutive day, installing a mobile structure and razing land, according to a local official.
The incursion came a day after illegal Israeli settlers, protected by the Israeli forces, attacked the town of Tell near Nablus in the northern West Bank, killing four Palestinians and injuring four others, according to Palestinian sources.
The Palestinian health ministry said the killings raised the number of Palestinians killed by Israeli forces and illegal settlers across the occupied West Bank since the beginning of 2026 to 86, including 65 killed by Israeli forces and 21 by illegal settlers.
In a statement, the Palestinian foreign ministry condemned “the massacre and terrorist crime committed by occupier militias, in partnership with the Israeli occupation forces".
It said the attack reflected “the integration of crimes and roles” between Israeli forces and illegal Israeli settlers and urged the international community to take “practical and immediate measures” to stop the attacks and provide international protection for Palestinians.
Since the start of Israel’s genocide in Gaza on October 7, 2023, the Israeli army and illegal settlers have intensified attacks on Palestinians and their property in the occupied West Bank, killing at least 1,185 people and injuring 3,816 others, according to official Palestinian figures.
