In a tight race in Alabama, Democrat Doug Jones pulled off an astounding victory. His Republican rival Roy Moore should have been a shoo-in for the deeply Conservative state - but Jones won by around 20-thousand votes after Moore was dragged down by sexual misconduct allegations.
