Nvidia's shares jumps 4.2% after Google AI partnership
Shares in Nvidia closed 4.2% higher on Tuesday to a new record after the chipmaker announced a partnership with Google. Through the partnership Google's cloud customers will have greater access to artificial intelligence technology powered by Nvidia's H-100 graphic processing units. The company's stock is up more than 230% this year, making it by far the best performer in the S&P 500. The record surge comes a week after it posted stellar earnings for the second quarter as demand for its chips-- that are needed to build and run A-I applications like OpenAI's Chat GPT-- soared. Nvidia expects a 170-percent jump in sales in the current quarter.
