Are US weapons makers too powerful?
These are dark days for much of the world but US weapons manufacturers are thriving. Their biggest customer, the American government, is spending more than ever - committed as it is - to funding Ukraine’s war with Russia and Israel’s war in Gaza. This week we talk to former soldier and Department of Defense official David Des Roches, former US army Colonel Liam Collins and Stephen Semler, a US Foreign policy writer and founder of the Security Policy Reform Institute. We ask them whether the big 5 weapons makers are too powerful and whether spending billions of dollars on foreign wars is a good investment for the American taxpayer.
