Spain says cabinet will recognise Palestinian state
Spain's Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has announced that the nation's cabinet is set to recognise a Palestinian state - in a move that's likely to strengthen the global Palestinian cause. The decision comes with Ireland and Norway also set to make their recogination of a state of Palestine official on Tuesday. The three European nations say the move is not against Israel nor in favour of Hamas, but rather in support of peace. Israel has reacted angrily, describing the decision as "obscene" and has recalled its ambassadors from all three nations.
