The Republican Party has nominated Donald J. Trump to be their candidate for the White House and this marks the third consecutive time. Opinions on Trump among the American people are sharply divided. All the drama concerning his court cases, however, evaporated 48 hours before the convention when Mr. Trump was shot in the head by a would-be assassin. Trump survived and may be more popular than ever.
