Africa Matters: Sudan Floods
For nearly a year and a half, millions of people across Sudan have been battered by war and starvation. Now, heavy rains have triggered floods, leaving food trucks stuck and raising fears of waterborne diseases. Meanwhile, global credit rating agencies often determine if African governments can borrow on international markets to fund major projects. But African countries accuse them of bias, and they want their own credit rating agency as an alternative.
