As part of the cradle of civilisation, Syria has been inhabited for thousands of years, becoming a melting pot of cultures, ethnicities, and religions that exist to this day. But air strikes by the Assad regime and Russia decimated historical sites, most notably in Aleppo. Yunus Demiroglu explores the archaeological remains of one of Syria's most important cities.
