From droughts to floods, how climate change is redefining the Balkans?
Lack of rainfall is one of the severe consequences of global warming, and the re-emergence of Greece's sunken village is a significant indicator of how serious this year's drought has been. The receding water levels in Mornos Lake in Greece's Attica region have reached such a point that the village of Kallio has become visible for the first time after it was deliberately flooded in the 1970s. Across The Balkans, hosted by Nafisa Latic, is TRT World’s programme that focuses specifically on the issues and fault lines shaping Southeast Europe today.
